Patrick Flaherty
Patrick Flaherty serves as the Division Chief of EMS and Training for the Sandy Springs Fire Department, bringing more than 30 years of experience in emergency medical services, fire-based EMS leadership, and healthcare systems integration. A United States Marine Corps veteran, his career spans rural and urban EMS systems as well as clinical roles in hospital emergency departments, NICU transport, and the cardiac catheterization lab.
In his current role, Chief Flaherty oversees several system-level initiatives, including the 4-Minute Community AED Project, the Community Paramedicine Program, and the implementation of modified Emergency Medical Dispatch response protocols. He is widely recognized for his focus on evidence-based practice, responder development, and community-centered strategies that improve patient outcomes and operational performance.
